A person suspected of having Ebola in Pakistan has tested negative for the disease, media reported Thursday.

Tasawar Hussain, who arrived in Karachi from Liberia via Doha and appeared to be in poor health, was admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Tuesday. He was discharged Wednesday, Dawn online reported.

A PIMS team, headed by Rizwan Qazi, kept the patient under observation for over 24 hours and conducted various tests on him. After he tested negative, he was declared free of Ebola and discharged.
