Fake currency seized in Bengal

The BSF Tuesday seized fake Indian currency notes of the face value of Rs.14 lakh from the near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Malda district.

"The Special Intelligence Team (SIT) that completed its one year of existence Tuesday, launched a special operation in Sasani area of Malda district and succeeded in seizing FICN of face value Rs. 14 lakh," said a Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson.

During its one year of functioning, the SIT, which came into being Dec 2 2013, succeeded in seizing FICN of face value of Rs.1.56 crore and apprehending 20 smugglers from the state.
