Five children drown in China

Five students drowned while swimming in a reservoir in China's Hunan province, authorities said Friday.

Residents living near the reservoir in Wentang township of Xinhua county retrieved the dead bodies around 3.30 p.m. Thursday, Xinhua reported.

A witness has tried to persuade the boys not to swim in the reservoir, where swimming is banned, but the children did not pay heed to it.
