Footballer Modric successfully undergoes knee injury

Real Madrid Croatian midfielder Luka Modric on Sunday underwent a successful left knee injury, and will be sidelined for nearly a month, according to a statement released on Real Madrid's website.

The club announced on Saturday that Modric is suffering from damage in the cartilage of his left knee, reports Efe.

Modric's injury forced him to miss the group training after the Champions League draw against Borussia Dortmund last Tuesday.

As of Monday, Modric will start a recovery period between three and four weeks before returning on to the field.
