Former Kolkata mayor Kamal Basu dead
He is survived by his son.
Basu, a Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader, was mayor of Kolkata in 1985-90.
He became a member of parliament from a Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district in 1952.
