Former Tamil Nadu Minister and AIADMK leader Nainar Nagendran and 12 others on Saturday joined the BJP in the presence of party chief Amit Shah.
Nagendran, who belongs to powerful Thevar community in Tamil Nadu, represented Tirunelveli constituency in the state assembly twice but lost the election in 2016 by over 600 votes.
Nagendran also served as a Minister for Power and Industry during AIADMK government in the state.
