Forum set up to help artisans

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has set up a forum on artisans to create awareness about issues affecting them among MPs, it was announced Tuesday.

"Though our artisans and craftspeople are world renowned for their exceptional talent and ability, they are facing a number of constraints that range from lack of access to credit, inadequate raw material input, infrastructure and technology to limited access to markets production, competition from machine-made products," said the speaker.
