German embassy security officer shot dead in Yemen

Yemeni gunmen shot dead a German national working as a security officer at the German embassy in Yemen's capital Sanaa Sunday, a police official told Xinhua.

"Three gunmen in a car opened fire at a German national, who worked as a security officer at the German embassy in Sanaa, as he went out of a supermarket in a southern suburb of Sanaa," the official said.

Witnesses told Xinhua that the gunmen fled the scene after the attack.
