Guerrillas shot dead civilian in Kashmir

Separatist guerrillas on Friday shot and killed a civilian in Kashmir's Sopore town, police said here.

A police officer said: "Militants fired at Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Bomai in Sopore. He was shifted to a hospital in a critical condition."

He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, the officer added.

Police said the victim was a civilian and the motive behind the attack was being ascertained.
