Gunfight erupts in Srinagar

A gunfight erupted in Srinagar's densely populated Chatabal area on Saturday, police said.

Following a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area, security forces including state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel surrounded Gasi Mohalla.

"As the security forces tightened the cordon, the holed-up militants fired at them triggering the gunfight," police sources added.
