Haryana prepares 'Quiz Bank' for school children

With the aim to prepare government school students in Haryana to face competitive examinations, the state's School Education Department has prepared a "Quiz Bank", a senior officer said here on Friday.

"About 10,000 questions have been included in the Quiz Bank, which have been prepared for the students of Class III to Class X," Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, P.K. Das told the media here.

Das said this Quiz Bank would be released on the eve of Independence Day (Aug 14).

He said that assistance of quiz master Siddhartha Basu, producer of "Kaun Banega Crorepati", and other renowned institutions had been sought while preparing the Quiz Bank.

 

"The Quiz Bank is the result of hard work of six months put in by a team comprising about 100 people of the Education Department.

"Quiz contests would be organised in the government schools on every Saturday in which the class teachers would also participate as contestants. For this, some teachers were being imparted training as quiz trainers," he added.
