The English Football Association (FA) accused Uruguayan international Abel Hernandez, striker for Hull City, for violent conduct against Manchester United defender Phil Jones during last Sunday's game.

Hernandez, 24, was involved in an incident with Jones 70 minutes into the game, which ended in a 0-0 draw, and led Hull City to get relegated to the League Championship, reports Efe.

An FA spokesman said on Tuesday that charges were filed against the Uruguayan for "an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video". The forward has until Wednesday evening to reply to the charges.

If sanctioned, Hernandez will not be able to play the first three games of the next season with Hull City in the Championship.
