Illicit liquor kills five in Bengal

At least five people were killed and nine others taken ill after allegedly consuming illicit liquor in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, an official said on Sunday.

The incident happened in Radhaballavpur, some 90 km from here, sub-divisional officer Partha Acharya said.

"We suspect the hooch might have caused the deaths. We are looking into all aspects," added the officer.
