Iran's Faghani to officiate England-Belgium clash
Iranian referee Alireza Faghani together with linesmen Reza Sokhandan and Mohammad Mansouri will officiate the third-place playoff match of the 2018 World Cup between England and Belgium.
According to semi-official Mehr news agency, Faghani officiated the Germany-Mexico and Serbia-Brazil matches in the group stage of the competition, reports Xinhua news agency.
He also took charge of the Argentina-France in the quarterfinals.
Faghani has not used VAR (video assistant referee) during the three matches.
The England-Belgium match will be held on Saturday at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.
