Jordanian Interior Minister Hussein Majali said Monday that international aid for Syrian refugees in Jordan was insufficient and covered only 30 percent of the real cost, Xinhua reported.

The minister said the impact of the influx of Syrian refugees was evident on the Jordanian economy, as there were about 1.3 million Syrian refugees in Jordan, accounting for about 15 percent of the country's population.

About 146,000 Syrian refugees live in camps in Jordan, while the rest live in cities, towns and villages in the Arab kingdom, he said.

The influx of the Syrian refugees, the minister said, also increased burdens on the security apparatuses, which have foiled attempts of armed groups to infiltrate into the country.
