Karnan brought to Kolkata, sent straight to Presidency jail

Former Calcutta High Court Justice C.S. Karnan who was arrested by the West Bengal CID officials from near Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on Tuesday, was brought to Kolkata on Wednesday and sent to jail.
Karnan, who was sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Supreme Court for contempt, was taken directly to the Presidency Jail from the Nataji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here.
"We got him in Coimbatore yesterday (Tuesday). We used our source information to track him down," a CID official told the reporters after arriving at the Kolkata airport.
According to the CID slueths, Karnan who was untraceable for more than a month, was staying initially in Chennai and then in Kerala and Coimbatore.
"He was staying in that location only. in Chennai, Kerala and eventually in Coimbatore. The initial formalities after the arrest including the medical check up, has been completed," the official said.
