New Zealand men's rowing pair Hamish Bond and Eric Murray Saturday broke the world record for the highest number of consecutive wins.

The pair, who won gold at the 2012 London Olympics, secured another gold at the World Rowing Championships in South Korea, reports Xinhua.

It is the 16th win in a row for the pair. The crew have not been beaten since coming together in 2009, winning four World Championship men's pair titles as well as their first World Championship in the coxless four this year.

It's the second medal for New Zealand at the 2013 Championships after Kayla Pratt and Rebecca Scown earlier claimed a bronze in the women's pair.
