Kush Kumar, Harshit retain titles

Kush Kumar (TN) and Harshit Kaur Jwanda (Del) retained the titles in the Under-19 boys and girls sections, respectively, in the sub-junior and junior national squash championship at the Indian Squash Association (ISA) courts here Saturday.

Kush thus signed off from the junior ranks with his ninth national title overall from U-11 stage. He was a class apart in the final against Vijay Kumar as he won 11-5, 11-7, 11-6.

Second seeded Jwanda, on the other hand, just managed to hold on to beat Lakshya Ragavendran, the top seed from TN, 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7.

Boys - U-19: 1-Kush Kumar (TN) bt 2-Vijay Kumar (TN) 11-5, 11-7, 11-6.AAU-17: 1-Velavan Senthilkumar (TN) bt Robin Singh Mann (Del) 11-7, 11-1, 11-6. U-15: 1-Tushar Shahani (Mah) bt 2-Chitanya Shah (Mah) 11-9, 11-9, 11-8. U-13: 1-Yash Fadte (Goa) bt Advait Adik (Mah) 11-8, 13-11, 11-2. U-11: 1-Jeh Pandole (Mah)bt 2-Shreyas Mehta (Mah) 11-9, 15-13, 11-5.

 

Girls - U-19: 2-Harshit Kaur Jawanda (Del)bt 1-Lakshya Ragavendran (TN) 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7. U-17: 2-Adya Advani (Del) bt 1-Akanksha Salunkhe (Goa) 11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 3-11, 11-9. U-15: 1-Nikita Joshi (Mah) bt Amita Gondi (AP) 11-6, 11-9, 11-3. U-13: 2-Megha Bhatia (Del) bt Ananya Dabke (Mah) 12-10, 12-14, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6. U-11: Abhisheka Shannon (TN) bt 1-Diksha Aurobindo (TN) 7-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.
