Chinese second seed Li Na beat Samantha Stosur to record her first-ever win in seven encounters to reach the quarterfinals of the Italia Open.
Li prevailed 6-3, 6-1 in 68 minutes with five breaks on the 30-year-old Australian's serve Thursday, reports Xinhua.
The Chinese will next face Italian 10th seed Sara Errani, who beat Czech Petra Cetkovska 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to reach the quarters.
