Lightning kills seven in Bihar

Seven people, including three women, were killed Thursday after being struck by lightning in Bihar, an official said.

Four deaths occurred in Saharsa, two in Gaya and one in Jamui districts while the victims were working in fields.

Six people were injured in the incidents, said an official of the state disaster management department.

The government has announced a compensation of Rs.1 lakh each for the kin of the victims.
