London rail station closed over 'security alert'

Authorities closed the London Victoria railway station on Friday and asked the rush hour commuters to evacuate and avoid the area following reports of a "security alert".

"Officers are responding to a security alert at Victoria station. Officers are on the scene. More information when we get it," British Transport Police said in a tweet.

"Victoria Rail station has closed due to a security alert," a spokesperson for Transport For London tweeted.
