Mahasweta Devi put on ventilator

Critically-ill veteran author and Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Mahasweta Devi was on Thursday put on life support after her condition worsened, a doctor said.

Suffering from various ailments, the 90-year-old has been undergoing treatment at a city hospital for nearly two months now.

"She was put on non-invasive ventilation after her condition worsened. She is under constant observation," said a doctor.
