Mamata welcomes SC ruling on right to privacy

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court's ruling that the right to privacy is a fundamental right.

"We welcome this verdict," Banerjee tweeted.

In a landmark judgement, a nine-judge Constitution bench unanimously held that right to privacy is a fundamental right guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.
