A middle-aged man was arrested here for raping a nine-year-old girl who is the daughter of his neighbour, police said Thursday.
The incident happened in Jyoti park area of Gurgaon.
The accused Uttam Singh, 40, gained entry into an unlocked room of the house where the girl and her parents were sleeping. He then picked up the girl and took her to the roof of the building.
The parents heard the child crying and came to know about the incident.
The victim's family hails from Rae Bareli and the accused belongs to Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
The accused has been sent to judicial custody by a court, said a police official.
