Militants kill police officer in Pulwama

Militants pulled out a police sub-inspector from his vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Sunday, dragged him away and shot him dead from close range, police said.

The private vehicle driven by the officer, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, was halted in Wahibugh area where he was killed. Mir, who was with the intelligence department, died instantly, a police officer said.

The police said a hunt had been launched to trace the killers.
