Modi denounces casteism, communalism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday came down heavily on casteism and communalism, saying they hold no place in India.

"Be it casteism or communalism, there is no place for them. In no way can they be tolerated," Modi said in his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort.

"This is Team India, a team of 125 crore Indians. This is the team that makes the nation and takes our nation to new heights," he said.
