It rained runs at the Mangalam Chinnaswamy Stadium here Wednesday as National Cricket Academy (NCA) smashed 656 in their first innings against Haryana Cricket Association (HCA) in the final of the KSCA's All-India invitational cricket tournament.

The second day of the four-day encounter saw NCA helping themselves with Deepak Hooda (105, 171b, 11x4, 3x6) and Ankit Bhavane (162, 232b, 16x4, 1x6) joining opener Washington Sundar (162) and Sudeep Chatterjee (104) in scoring centuries.

Resuming at their overnight total of 284 for three, NCA went hell for leather and even the early dismissal of Sundar, who added only 10 to his overnight score provided no respite to the Haryana bowlers.

With two more days of play remaining, HCA face an uphill task to save the match and would be looking for divine intervention by way of monsoon showers that appear imminent.

Brief scores:

National Cricket Academy (1st innings, Overnight 284 for 3) 656 all out in 178.5 overs (Washington Sundar 162, Sudeep Chatterjee 104, Deepak Hooda 105, Ankit Bhavane 162, Nikhil Naik 51, Jayant Yadav 2-20, Yuzuvendra Chahal 2-195, Sonu Rathee 3-84) vs HCA.
