Nine militants killed in Karachi

Nine militants were killed in Pakistan's port city Karachi in a shootout with police Sunday.

Police conducted a search for suspected militants in Steel Town area of Karachi, Xinhua quoted police officer Rao Anwar as saying.

During the operation, police and terrorists were locked in a gun battle, leaving the nine militants killed. Anwar said a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists.
