Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Tuesday ruled out any alliance of his Janata Dal-United with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA.

Making it clear in the state assembly that the alliance chapter was closed forever, Nitish Kumar said: "There is no question of the JD-U's return to the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP. We will not ally with the BJP in future whether we survive or finish... under no circumstances."

The chief minister said the era of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has ended in the BJP and it was "impossible" to again join hands with the party.

Nitish Kumar earlier accused the BJP of breaking the trust after the party said it will not name Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.
