The CBI Friday arrested Sagar Kumar Ray, one of the directors of Orison Group of companies, in Odisha for his alleged complicity with Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradip Sethy, who has duped thousands of people through a chit fund scam in the state.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the chit fund scam, interrogated Ray for his links with the AT Group and later arrested him as he failed to give satisfactory answers.
"He has received huge amount of money in his personal account as well as in the accounts of his companies which he could not satisfactorily account for," a CBI official said.
Ray was questioned by the CBI in September for taking money from Artha Tatwa group. He then told the interrogators to have taken the huge amounts of money from the Artha Tatwa group for his business.
