Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said the state public sector undertakings (PSUs) will facilitate coaching for 200 students next year to compete with other students for admission in the prestigious engineering institutes.

The Chief Minister made this announcement on Thursday while felicitating the OMC Super 30 students who have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination for engineering.

The talented students belonging to economically weaker sections would be provided coaching facilities for competing in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for IITs, NITs and other engineering institutes.

The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), in collaboration with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL), New Delhi, has taken the initiative to support the coaching of talented students.

While 75 students were trained in this initiative of OMC, 38 students have been qualified to take admission in IITs, NITs and other institutes this year.

"The OMC has set the right example for other State Public Sector Undertakings to emulate. Now, let me make an announcement that other State PSUs will also impart similar coaching to 100 more students," the Chief Minister said.

While OMC would provide coaching facilities to 100 students next year, the other state PSUs will provide coaching facilities to another 100 students next year, said the Chief Minister.

Patnaik hoped that the success of the students would inspire other students in the state.
