One killed in Philippine bombing

A suspected bomber was killed when an explosive device he was trying to plant exploded near a police station in the Philippines, an official said Wednesday.
The bomb exploded Tuesday night on a highway in Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur province, Capt. Jefferson Somera, an army spokesman, told Xinhua.
The army recovered another bomb in the area.
Police said they were not able to identify the suspect.
Security forces found a bag containing an explosive device, with a cell phone acting as a trigger. The bomb was immediately defused.
