Pakistan-China luxury bus service embarks on maiden trip

A Pakistan-luxury bus service has been launched from to the city of in China's province.

The bus service started on Monday night and is part of an initiative to connect the two countries via road under the Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Lahore-bus will run for four days a week -- on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday -- while the Kashgar-bus will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dawn online reported on Tuesday.

The journey will take a total of 36 hours and the bus will have five stopovers along the way before crossing into at the Khunjerab Pass.

The one-way fare is Rs 13,000, while a round trip will cost Rs 23,000, according to Travellers will require a valid visa and ID card to make the journey.
