PM shocked over temple deaths

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday expressed deep sorrow and shock at the death of pilgrims in a temple stampede in Madhya Pradesh.

"The prime minister extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the incident and asked the administration to provide medical assistance to the injured," said a statement.

"On this day of festivities, our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families," the prime minister said.
