Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met here on Friday a group of Kashmiri schoolchildren who are on a 'Bharat Darshan' tour and asked them to "share the beauty and diverse culture of India".

The BSF has arranged the tour of a group of 40 schoolchildren, including 20 girls, hailing from remote and far-flung areas of Kashmir region, an official release said.

The home minister lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) for organising the tour to enable these children to get first-hand experience of the rich cultural heritage and diversity of India.

He advised the children to share their experiences and love they received during the tour with their friends and family after returning home.

The children shared with Rajnath Singh their experiences while visiting different historical places.

Speaking on the occasion, BSF Director General D.K. Pathak said 'Bharat Darshan' tours are conducted annually since 2000 for children from Jammu and Kashmir.

Till date, 1,499 children from the state have gone on such tours sponsored by the BSF.
