A gang snatched a bag containing Rs.7 lakh from a person as he came out of a bank after drawing the money. The gang threw a Rs.10 note on the ground to divert his attention.
The incident took place in the busy Ameerpet area here Wednesday.
Satyaram, a private employee, had drawn the money from a bank for some office work. As he was walking down the road, he found a Rs.10 note. When he bent to pick up the note, a gang of unidentified people snatched the bag from his hand and fled.
Satyaram filed a complaint with the S.R. Nagar police station. Police said they suspect the involvement of two to three people.
