Security forces kill militant in Kashmir gunfight

A militant was killed and a soldier injured on Tuesday in a gun battle between guerrillas and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The security forces surrounded Parray Mohalla in north Kashmir Bandipora district following information about the presence of militants, a police officer said.

This triggered the gunfight, leaving the militant dead and the soldier injured.
