Sensex closes 192 points up

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday closed 191.68 points, or 0.69 percent up.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed 57.60 points or 0.69 percent up at 8,423.25 points, as per provisional figures.

The 30-scrip Sensex, which opened at 27,749.30 points, closed at 27,837.21 points (provisional) - up 191.68 points, or 0.69 percent, over the previous day's close at 27,645.53 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,903.01 points and a low of 27,743.99 points during the day.
