Sensex gains 124 points in afternoon session

A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 123.57 points or 0.45 percent up during the afternoon session on Tuesday.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also was trading 36.80 points or 0.44 percent up at 8,410.45 points.
