Singhal is new Haryana DGP

Y.P. Singhal was appointed Wednesday as Haryana's Director General of Police (DGP).

He replaces S.N. Vashisht who has been shifted as Director General-State Vigilance Bureau.

The previous Congress government had appointed Vashisht.

However, Haryana's new BJP government led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, which assumed office Oct 26 last year, had retained him as DGP even while other top police officers were transferred.
