At least six people were killed and nine injured Wednesday after a suicide bomber targeted an army bus in Afghanistan, an official said.

"Five army personnel and the attacker were killed on spot and the injured comprised four soldiers and five civilians," the official told Xinhua.

The blast occurred at around 6.30 a.m. in Jamal Mina locality, about 200 metres from Kabul University's northern gate.

The attacker rammed his explosive-packed sedan into the bus, the official said.
