Three Afghan border police personnel shot dead

Three Afghan border police personnel were shot dead in Herat province on Monday.

"The shooting took place in Ahmad Abad locality outside Herat city after armed men laid an ambush," a senior official told Xinhua news agency.

The victims were travelling to office in the town of Islam Qala near the border with Iran. No group has claimed the attack.
