Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured in a blast after separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at them on Thursday evening, police said.
"Militants hurled a grenade at a CRPF party near Ikhwan Hotel in Khanyar locality area. Three CRPF troopers have been injured in this explosion," a senior police officer told IANS here.
"The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment and the area has been cordoned off to search for the militants," he added.
The attack occurred despite heightened security in the city two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public rally.
Scores of police and CRPF personnel have been deployed in the city to prevent any disruption of peace ahead of the prime minister's visit.
