Two teenagers were killed and a dozen injured when their pickup van rammed into a tree and rolled into a ditch in Basti district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police said.
The incident occurred in Kurthia when the driver apparently fell asleep and lost control over the vehicle, police officer Anil Singh said.
Singh said 41 people were travelling in the pickup. They had boarded the van from Dargah Budhwa Baba in Bikauli area of Shrawasti on Monday.
After attending some function in Nagauna in Nepal, they were heading back to Shrawasti when the accident took place.
The injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities where the condition of two was said to be critical.

The deceased were identified as Tabrez, 15, and Waseem, 16. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
