UNGA President to visit Pakistan on January 18

The of the UN (UNGA), Maria Fernanda Espinosa, will visit from January 18 to 22, her said.

According to Monica Grayley, this will be Espinosa's first official visit to the since she took office in September.

During her five-day visit, Espinosa will meet Pakistan's Arif Alvi, Imran Khan, as well as representatives of the UN and civil society, reported on Saturday.

"The (UNGA) is looking forward to strengthening ties between and the UN, promoting multilateralism and continuing her work with the country on the priorities for the 73rd session of the General Assembly," Grayley said while addressing a briefing at the here.

Talking about the visit, Pakistan's Permanent to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, said that the country's leadership plans to discuss a wide range of global and regional issues with the President during her visit.
