US Defence Secretary on India visit

US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter is to arrive in New Delhi on Sunday on a three-day visit during which he will meet Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to take forward India-US defence cooperation.

During his trip to India, Carter will visit New Delhi and Goa, and hold a meeting with Parrikar, a statement from the US embassy said on Saturday.

According to the statement, Carter will advance the US' growing security where the country is developing new partnerships and modernising a long-standing alliance with India, the statement said.
