The Indian government will take "all possible steps" to prevent further killings of its soldiers by Pakistani troops in Indian territory, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Thursday.
Delivering his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, the prime minister referred to the recent "dastardly attack on our jawans on the Line of Control with Pakistan" in Jammu and Kashmir.
"We will take all possible steps to prevent such incidents in future," he added.
Pakistani troops infiltrated into the Poonch region in Kashmir and shot dead five Indian soldiers earlier this month.
