A 28-year-old woman on Tuesday accused her father-in-law of rape in east Delhi's Ghazipur area, police said.
Accused Prashant Sharma is on the run ever since the alleged crime was reported to police by the woman to the Ghazipur police station.
"The woman, in her complaint, said Sharma harboured bad intentions vis-a-vis her for the last couple of months and sexually assaulted her on Monday after giving her drug-laced food. She fell unconscious and later found she had been raped," a senior police officer said.
A rape case has been registered against Sharma.
