Woman bank official commits suicide

A 22-year-old woman, working at the Punjab National Bank, committed suicide by hanging herself in her house here Thursday, police said.
Konika, who got married in 2012 and has a child, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her home in R.K. Puram area of south Delhi.
During initial inquiry, police got to know that she had a quarrel with her husband Nitin, who works in Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Thursday morning over some issue.
"After the quarrel, Konika locked herself in her bedroom. Her in-laws broke the door when she did not come out of the room and did not reply to their repeated knocks on the door. She was found hanging from a ceiling fan," said a police official, citing the statement of victim's husband.
Konika's family members made a complaint to police against her in-laws blaming them for her death.
"Her family members made allegations that she was being harassed by her in-laws for a few years on petty issues. A case has been registered against her in-laws and probe is on," said the official.
