The Common Entrance Test (CAT) for 2010 went through smoothly in sharp contrast to last year when the maiden attempt at online CATs ran into embarrassing software snags. Recalling those days, Ramesh Nava, chief of Prometric, the firm responsible for administering the online tests, said he had had a full head of hair before CAT started. Meanwhile, this year’s CAT convener Prof Himanshu Rai said there was no looking back. “The ghost of 2009 was over then only. I didn’t want to be a Vikram carrying a betaal on my shoulders,” he said.
